Hello,
My name is Evelyn Jones, and I'm your school counselor. I look forward to meeting you and working with our new students, as well as our returning students. I am located in room 126 of the main building. My goal is to assist AWMMS students and faculty in the best way possible as the school counselor. As the counselor, I assist with academics, career planning, and emotional and social skills for our students.
Middle School is a pivotal time in our students' lives. They are becoming more independent, approaching puberty, and experiencing adolescence. It is important that students utilize the support and resources that their counselors have available to help them make better choices for a successful school experience. I enjoy seeing our students flourish in becoming their best selves, academically and socially.
I have a Master of Education (School Counselor) from Southeastern Louisiana University and a Bachelor of Science (Teacher) from Southern University at New Orleans. This is my 31st year, and I have had some wonderful experiences throughout the years as an educator and school counselor. I am a certified school teacher and counselor, as well as a Licensed Professional Counselor, Supervisor (LPC-S). I am the proud mother of two sons, Jamal and Marcus, and seven grandchildren.
