📢 Report Cards Are Here!

Parents and guardians, your child’s report card is a window into their learning journey. After reviewing it, we encourage you to:

  • Contact your child’s teachers to discuss progress or ask questions.

  • Schedule a conference if needed; your involvement makes a real difference!

  • Celebrate achievements: Students who made Honor Roll for the 2nd nine weeks will receive a special invitation to our Honor’s Ceremony.

We are aiming for 100% parent/guardian participation; let’s be intentional about learning and support our students together!

Innovation Lab Facilitator

Join us as we give a great big congratulations to Mrs. Smith! 🎉 We’re excited to watch her shine in her new role as Innovation Lab Facilitator.

Nicole Smith is bringing with her a passion for creativity, collaboration, and student-centered learning. Nicole is no stranger to the Westside community; she began her journey at AWMMS as a substitute teacher, where she quickly built strong relationships with students and staff.

Through that experience, she developed a deep understanding of our school culture and a genuine connection with our learners. In her new role, Nicole is excited to foster innovation, critical thinking, and hands-on learning experiences that empower students to explore, create, and grow.

Growing Leadership at Amite Westside Middle Magnet School

Amite Westside Middle Magnet School proudly congratulates Mrs. Bridges-Deamer on her new role as Magnet Specialist. A dedicated educator, proven leader, and advocate for student success, Mrs. Bridges-Deamer brings a wealth of experience, school pride, and instructional excellence to this position.

An Amite Warrior alumna and Louisiana State University (LSU) graduate, Mrs. Bridges-Deamer’s journey reflects a deep commitment to both education and community. She has several years of experience teaching, where she consistently supported student growth, built strong relationships, and fostered confidence in learning.

In recognition of her outstanding impact in the classroom, Mrs. Bridges-Deamer was named Teacher of the Year last school year, an honor that speaks to her dedication, professionalism, and influence on both students and colleagues.

Beyond the classroom, Mrs. Bridges-Deamer has served as a Summer School Coordinator, further demonstrating her leadership, organizational skills, and commitment to extending learning opportunities for students.

As Magnet Specialist, Mrs. Bridges-Deamer will support Amite Westside’s magnet programming, strengthen instructional practices, and help ensure students are prepared for future academic and career success. Her firsthand knowledge of the Amite Westside culture, combined with her instructional expertise and leadership, makes her an exceptional fit for this role.

Mrs.Bridges-Deamer will continue to teach her 7th grade Math students while transitioning into her new role!

Amite Westside Middle Magnet School proudly celebrates Mr. Paul Smith, our 2025 “NEW” Teacher of the Year!

Mr. Smith joined our Warrior family this year as a first-year educator, bringing fresh enthusiasm, innovative teaching strategies, and a genuine love for helping students succeed. In just his first year in the classroom, he has made an incredible impression on both students and staff alike. His positive attitude, willingness to learn, and natural ability to connect with students have set a powerful example of what it means to teach with purpose and passion.

As a 6th-grade math teacher, Mr. Smith has transformed his classroom into an engaging environment where students feel supported, challenged, and motivated to reach their highest potential. His dedication and commitment to excellence have not only inspired his students but have also earned him the admiration and respect of his colleagues.

We are beyond proud to honor Mr. Smith as our “NEW” Teacher of the Year, recognizing his outstanding achievements and promising future in education. The Warrior Nation celebrates you!

Tangipahoa Parish School System Moves Closer to Full Unitary Status in Federal Desegregation Case

In a historic step forward, the plaintiffs in the 60-year federal desegregation case involving the Tangipahoa Parish School System have signed a consent agreement with the district in the areas of Faculty and Staff Assignment, Teacher Assignment, and Student Assignment. Following this agreement, attorneys for the school system have filed motions with U.S. District Judge Ivan Lemelle seeking final unitary status in all three of these key areas.
